Funny: Clean Up Your Trash

I was pretty sure that when you go to a gas station if you see a plastic bag over the pump it obviously indicates that there is something wrong with the pump and that you shouldn’t use it. I thought this was a universal thing but apparently not the case in other countries.

The gas station is busy as usual and when someone uses their credit card out at the pump it pretty much indicates one less person you need to keep tabs on. This was proven no longer true after the following situation ensued.

Guy: (Enters the store really pissed off). What your pump doesn’t print out a receipt either?

Me: I’m sorry about that I can print you a receipt in here. Which pump are you at?

Guy: Pump 2.

Me: Here is your receipt. Why did you use pump 2?

Guy: Doesn’t matter why I chose pump 2. Your gas station is a dump. You don’t even clean up trash from your customers.

Me: What are you talking about? You shouldn’t have even used pump 2 it had a bag on the nozzle indicating not to use it.

Guy: Okay smart ass just because you had a weird customer put a grocery bag on the pump instead of walking over to the trash and throwing it away doesn’t mean you can get away with claiming the pump is broke.

Me: Honestly I don’t even know what is wrong with pump 2; I’m surprised you got it to work.

Guy: Well I couldn’t read the screen I just kept pressing buttons after I put my credit card in until it started to work. Why are you so surprised?

Me: You mean you have never seen a bag on a nozzle before?

Guy: Never!

Me: What did you do with the bag?

Guy: I threw it away of course… what the f*ck do you think I did with the bag.

Me: (Trying not to laugh I handed him a bag) When you go back out there put this back on the nozzle like you saw the first one. For future reference if you see a bag like that it means don’t use that pump.

Guy: Are you calling me stupid?

Me: No… just put that bag back please.

Guy: Fine, whatever! (Walks out of the store).

I don’t want to assume this guy was a moron. Instead I will blame our culture I suppose. He had a heavy Indian accent so I have to assume this guy is fairly new to the United States and his homeland doesn’t use the bag thing the same way we do here in the States.

Then again maybe this guy is a rocket scientist or something and just has no common sense like this lady HERE
