Ex General Motors CEO’s Find Jobs

Most gear heads and business majors in college will probably remember GM’s CEO Rick Wagoner for different reasons but I’m sure most people won’t forget being ousted by President Barack Obama.  It turns out that Rick Wagoner is still out and about and has just landed a board spot at Aleris Holding Co. which is based in Ohio.

So in an ironic twist of once guiding a company who used aluminum in it’s products, Rick Wagoner has ended up in a recycled career as a board member at a company that actually recycles aluminum.

So while his exit was labeled as an official retirement at GM in 2009, it turns out that his compensation package just wasn’t that great after all.  I wish him luck I hear there are a couple of oil companies that could use new executive management…

Which reminds me of our other favorite former-General Motors CEO Fritz Henderson, who was also ousted by the Government and replaced with Ed Whitacre.  Fritz Henderson is about to take the reigns of what was once part of an oil company.

Fritz Henderson found himself a new job recently as he is going to be joining a Sunoco spinoff company SunCoke Energy.  If I knew less about the energy industry and I had to guess who would be heading up a company called SunCoke Energy I’d probably focus my attention towards Lindsey Lohan, or Paris Hilton.  It’s good to see that Fritz has found himself a new job since the “poor guy” went from a steady one, to CEO overnight, then a guy on the streets a couple weeks later.

Currently General Motors is the only company that is going to be giving HP a run for the corporate titan of Career Purgatory maker.  You can read about HP’s follies here.
