20 States get a Minimum Wage Raise in 2017

Michigan gets a raise from $8.50 per hour to $8.90 in 2017. Tipped workers go from $3.23 to $3.38 per hour.

19 other states, and Washington DC are also moving to raise Minimum Wage rates in 2017. Not all of the states below get minimum wage increases on January 1,2017. Washington state has some tier rates for younger workers to pay 85% of “adult minimum wages”.
