California EDD Debit Card Phishing Scam

Watch out for a new California EDD Debit Card scam that is getting reported. Californian’s are getting unsolicited text messages alerting them to send their banking information to a fraudulent site the message will look similar to this:

 

The fraudsters probably do not even know the text message recipients are on unemployment but banking on fear getting a quick reaction and unlocking new fraudulent funds.

If you think there is an issue with your EDD Debit card, call the number listed your debit card to sort out what could be wrong. The number listed on your card will not be compromised and they would have your information.
