Finding a job is a job on its own. Filling out job applications for companies that have no positions open is generally a waste of time if you need a job now and not 6 months from now.
Twitter is a great barometer of job openings or lack there of. When a company indicates there is a job available on you need to act fast. On the flip side of that equation, one of the absurdities of the current job market is that there is often times when there are no jobs available. Your level of awareness is can save you countless hours applying for jobs at sites that have nothing to offer you but a thank your for applying email. Here is an example of what we are talking about.
