Free Michigan Defense Industry Training From ARRA Grant

Macomb Community College received a $4.9 million ARRA Grant to train unemployed, underemployed, and displaced workers to enter the defense industry.  The one time funds expire at the end of 2012 and the program is supposed to train 3,000 people to help them enter the Defense Industry.

Below is the presentation materials that were passed out at an orientation for the Defense Training at Henry Ford Community College.

Career Purgatory Defense Training Orientation(function() { var scribd = document.createElement(“script”); scribd.type = “text/javascript”; scribd.async = true; scribd.src = “http://www.scribd.com/javascripts/embed_code/inject.js”; var s = document.getElementsByTagName(“script”)[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(scribd, s); })();

You need to frequently check out the website for different training classes that are offered through this grant.

The following community colleges are also participating though the Macomb Community College Grant with different training.

The training grant is probably going to roll out to some other schools in the future.  It has been advised to check the Macomb Defense Training portal weekly for new training courses  and locations being offered.  We’ll try to keep current on them as well.

Let us know if you’ve attended one of these courses and if was worth your time.
