Verizon Eliminates 750 Metro Detroit jobs
While the news report reads like a very well constructed Public Relations piece stating that the call center jobs of 750 people will be cut, it goes on to say that most people are eligible to transfer elsewhere. The job cuts are part of a larger headcount reduction of 3,175 jobs across the country.
The company will even pay up to $10,000 for moving expenses, keep in mind most people in Metro Detroit are underwater on their homes, moving is probably not an option for most employees that are eligible.
