You Are Fired, (Do not reply all)
Aviva Investors accidentally sent an email informing that employees of the company were to be fired. It only intended to fire one employee but the entire company was sent the email.
“I am required to remind you of your contractual obligations to the company you are leaving. You have an obligation to retain any confidential information pertaining to Aviva Investors operations, systems and clients.”
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and wish you all the best for the future,”
Surely getting fired by email is not great, ranking right up there with being fired over voice mail (seriously it happens), nothing like rubbing in that almost everyone can ignore the last email and one of you can ignore all future emails.
No word yet on how many employees started packing up their corporate issued staplers, pens, coffee mugs, and raided the supply closet in the 25 minutes before the apology email was issued.
