Trends in Employment: Smaller News Crews
It’s been a while since we’ve highlighted some trends, however a developing trend is that your local news crew is going to get smaller. One of the first areas that are being cut is your local lottery announcer who pulls the winning numbers. These workers are being replaced with robotic systems.
The other area that is on the horizon is that unmanned aircraft technology has advanced and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has started to allow unmanned aircraft commonly called Drones or UAV’s to enter the United States air. News organizations are looking to reduce expenditures for expensive items like helicopters, fuel, and support staff.
