10 States get Minimum Wage Raises for 2013
Ten States are getting increased pay for workers that are on minimum wage for the New Year.
Federal minimum wage is $7.25 per hour.
The ten states getting the new rates are:
- Washington State – increasing .15 cents an hour to $9.19 per hour the highest minimum wage state in the country.
- Rhode Island – will now be at $7.40 per hour.
- Arizona – increase .15 cents an hour to $7.80 per hour.
- Colorado – increase of .14 cents an hour to $7.78 an hour, tipped hourly workers will see an increase from $4.62 to $4.76.
- Florida – an increase of .12 cents an hour to $7.79
- Missouri – increases .10 an hour to $7.35 an hour.
- Montana – increasing .15 to $7.80 an hour.
- Ohio – increasing .15 to $7.85 an hour, tipped employees will be at $3.93 an hour.
- Oregon – increasing .15 to $8.95 an hour.
- Vermont – .14 to $8.60 an hour.
A special city on this list is San Fransisco sets it’s local minimum wage at the highest in the country which is now raised in 2013 to $10.55 an hour.
