Quality of job creation is very poor
The recent job creation numbers look good on the surface. However as anyone starts to dig into them you’re looking at terrible quality. The hourly rate is under $16 an hour, little to no benefits.
Of the 953,000 jobs created so far in 2013 77% of them or 731,000 are part-time jobs. The implications of this are that part-time works have no benefits, and generally are paid close to minimum wage.
So while you work a part-time job don’t be afraid to look forward to some of the great customers you have to work with.
