Continued Assistance Act (CAA) Payment information from Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency

Continued Assistance Act (CAA) Payment information from Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency

So you got a cryptic note from the Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency to your email.

This one is not bad news. It goes on to state that as long as you are getting at least $1 for weekly unemployment benefit payment you will get the Federal Government backed $300 Continued Assistance Act payment until September, 4, 2021 or unless you find employment, or your weekly benefit claim weeks run out.

Note from the Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency:

Attention Claimant,

On March 11, 2021, the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021, was signed into law. The ARPA is an extension of the Continued Assistance Act (CAA), and in part, provides for an extension of Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC). FPUC provides an additional $300 per week in supplemental benefits to eligible individuals. FPUC is payable for the weeks ending March 20, 2021 through the week ending September 4, 2021.

Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA) records show you have established a claim for unemployment benefits. Therefore, this notice is to advise that in addition to your weekly benefit amount, if you receive at least $1.00 in weekly unemployment benefits, you are also eligible to receive the additional $300 FPUC benefit payment for the week. The additional $300 will be paid in addition to your weekly benefit entitlement. The additional $300 per week will end when your benefit entitlement expires or the week ending September 4, 2021, whichever one comes first.

You do not need to do anything additional to qualify for this payment; however, you must continue to certify bi-weekly and be eligible to receive the payment.
