Funny: No ice… you must hate animals

This crazy story happened during the 4th of July weekend, which was beautiful, hot, and busy. During the Independence Day weekend holiday many people buy bags of ice for parties and coolers, etc. This concept should make sense to the general public, but was clearly impossible to comprehend for this woman to wrap her head around.

Me: Hello!

Woman: Hi, I would like two bags of ice.

Me: I’m sorry but we don’t have any bags left that I can sell you.

Woman: What do you mean that you can sell to me?

Me: Sorry I worded that poorly; there isn’t any ice left in the cooler for me to sell you.

Woman: That’s impossible! I’m a dog trainer and I was in here earlier today and I was able to buy ice.

Me: If you don’t believe me then go take a look for yourself in the cooler.

(Woman dashes outside and looks in the cooler then comes back in the store)

Woman: You had ice at 6am and its only 4pm, how can you not have ice?

Me: Ma’am it is the 4th of July and its very hot outside. A lot of people have bought ice today since you were here earlier.

Woman: Where is your backup ice?

Me: I don’t know what you are talking about. We don’t have “backup” ice.

Woman: I bet you won’t sell me some of your ice in reserve because you hope my dogs die of heat exhaustion.

Me: Ma’am I’ve never seen you or your dogs before. If there was ice I would sell it to you.

Woman: (Pacing) This is absurd that you won’t sell me ice.

Me: Its not you. We have zero ice. Have you checked at the gas station across the street?

Woman: Just so you know Karma is a bitch and you will get whats comin’ to you for being cruel to dogs.

Me: Ma’am the best I can do for you is sell you a couple of popsicle’s.

Woman: Not for my prized dogs. Just forget it! See if I come back again. (Storms out of the store).

For those of you keeping track this is not the first time, nor I suspect will it be the last time that a crazed animal lover will grace my gas-station with their presence.  You can read about my first experience with one of these joyous souls here.
